One of the reasons I haven't been posting

I haven't hardly posted at all lately, one of the reasons is I've been working on some Senior pics that I took for my nephew. Going to a very large school, he's only allowed a few tickets for graduation, so he only ordered a few invitations. We decided to do some photo announcements for him. This is my first attempt at something like this, please let me know what you think!! I did several different ones, this is the one that he liked the best. It's pretty simple, I didn't want to "over-embellish" it. The text is a little hard to read at this size, but it's easier on a larger size. I added a drop shadow to it to make it stand out a little more. CC always welcome! Thanks!

Devotion

I'm posting today with a photo that's a couple of months old, from a baby shoot that I did for a friend. We were just about done with the shoot, and he got a little fussy and needed some comfort from Mom. I thought it was a sweet image, even with the binky! I tried to blur out the distracting background, using a heavy gaussian blur. If anybody has a better way to do this, I would love to hear it! :) Settings were Av mode, f/4.0, ss 1/60, ISO 400, 50mm lens, b&w conversion on PSE4. CC Welcome!

Becca and Brynn

One of these days, I swear I'll be back on topic! Still no sun here to photograph, so I'm posting some more pics of this weekend in the bluebonnets. This is DD and my niece. Settings were RAW, 28-90mm lens, f/4.5, ss 1/1600, ISO 400, colors bumped up a little in PSE4. Both these girls have such fair skin, it was hard to get a good skin tone. CC Welcome! TFL!

Texas Bluebonnets, Plus 1 Red Flower

No sun here the last couple of days, so I'm not on topic! As a matter of fact, it snowed here the day before Easter - crazy! Anyway, this is a patch of bluebonnets that are across the street from me. There are a few of these red flowers scattered in the patch, and they really caught my eye. Settings were RAW, 400 ISO, f/1.8, ss 1/2000, 50 mm lens. I really bumped up the contrast and saturation in PSE4. CC Please!

One more Senior Shot

This is a quick collage I did from my recent senior session. I just did it as an example to show him that we could do something like this. I used one of Krisztina's templates, ever since I received those I've made about a zillion collages of my kids- they're so fun! I know this may be kind of small and hard to see everything (I don't know how to make it where you can click and enlarge it without it being HUGE), but tell me what you think of the layout. Thanks for looking!

Couple Shot

I took this shot at the same time as the Senior shot in my previous post - this is the Senior's brother. I'm trying to get better at the "in-camera tilt". Other than the mysterious, disembodied hand coming around the wall, what do you think of the crop and tilt? Settings were RAW, Av mode, 50mm lens, f/5.0, ss 1/125, and I used Bella's Action "Brighten Up 1" for PSE4.0. CC Welcome and TFL!

From a Senior Session

I've been MIA for a while, so even though this is totally off-topic, I just wanted to post something! This is from a senior session I did about a week ago for a friend of a friend. It was slightly overcast all day, but about the time we got ready to shoot, it really clouded up. All my images ended up being a little bit soft, unfortunately, but hopefully I got some shots that they'll like. This was shot in RAW, 50mm lens, 400 ISO, Av mode, f/3.2, ss 1/250. I kept changing between my 50mm and my kit lens during the session, I couldn't decide which one was doing the better job. I really, really want the 85mm 1.8 lens! CC Please! Thanks for looking!
